January Member’s Meeting
Happy New Year!!! 2019 is finally here and it’s shaping up to be LOLUG’s best year yet. Why you ask?? To find the answers to that question, and many others you may have, stop by our January member’s meeting. Meeting starts at 6:30 pm on Wednesday Jan. 16th at the Milton R Abrahams Library in Omaha, NE. We will be discussing all of LOLUG’s plans, events, and activities for the upcoming year including the mother (in-law) of all LEGO shows, Nebraska Brick Days. And as usual there will be food, fun, friends, and talk of all things LEGO.
Start off 2019 on the right foot and get your self to a meeting and until then, PLAY WELL!!

Hobbytown’s 1st Annual Mini-fig Fun Day
I am proud to announce that LOLUG will be co-hosting the 1st annual Hobbytown Mini-Fig Fun Day. This event will be hosted by Hobbytown USA and their south location at 4107 Pioneer Woods Dr. suite 108 in Lincoln, Ne on December the 8th from 11-3.
What is a “Mini-fig Fun Day” you ask? Well I’m glad you did. Folks from both LOLUG and Hobbytown will be hosting a mini-fig exchange event where we invite the public to come in and swap out any old unwanted LEGO mini-figs with for different ones. Participants will have the chance to swap with LOLUG members as well as among each other.
Also, we will be running our popular Mini-Fig Speed Building Competition all day long. If you enjoyed participating in this event at Nebraska Brick Days this year, or looking to bone up for next year, this is the perfect time.
In addition to all that LEGO goodness, members of LOLUG will be around to answer questions, help with building techniques, or just shoot the breeze about all things LEGO.

Midwest Collectible Toy Show
Looking for so rare hard to find LEGO sets or missed out or looking for that one retired set to complete your collection? You’re in luck. Members from LOLUG will be in attendance at this year’s Midwest Collectible Toy Show selling sets from their own collection. This year’s event will be held on December 2nd at the Omaha’s Firefighter’s Union Hall, 6005 Grover St, from 9-3.
Admission is free so if you’re looking for something to do that day, come out and have look or just stop by to hang out, you know we are always looking for a reason to talk LEGO with people.

December Member’s Meeting (Holiday Party)
The turkey has been eaten, the LEGO have all been wrapped, and we are waiting on the Big Guy in red. So what’s that mean for LOLUG? It’s PARTY TIME!! It happens at this time every year, LOLUG’s annual Christmas Party. Come joins us for fun, food, games, and of course LEGO! We will be in Lincoln this month at the Loren Corey Eiseley Library located at 1530 Superior Street, Dec. 19th from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
As always we’ll have our $10 White Elephant Exchange, holiday themed Iron Builder Contest, and the event members work all year for, the covenant LOLUG Luggy Awards……Oh yeah LEGO, LEGO and more LEGO.

November Member’s Meeting
Now that Halloween is over and all of the costumes and decorations have been put away, it’s time to start planning for this month’s LOLUG Member’s Meeting. As most of our members know, this month’s meeting time is a bit different. We will be meeting on the second Wednesday, Nov. 14th, in Omaha, NE at the Milton Abrahams Public Library 5111 North 90th, from 6:30 – 8:30.
This month’s activities will include an outstanding presentation on the History of LEGO and the Adult Fan given by the one and only Nate Flood. We will also recap the LEGO Pit Stop show, update members on new from LEGO, and as always hang around and talk all things LEGO.

October’s Members Meeting
Happy Birthday LOLUG! That’s right, LOLUG turns 6 this month. It seems like only yesterday we were warming up formula, changing its diapers…..errrr…aaaahhh never mind. With the changing of every month, comes the announcement of our next meeting. This month’s get -together is Wed. Oct. 17th in Lincoln at the Loren Corey Eiseley Library located at 1530 Superior Street Lincoln, Ne from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
This month we will be discussing new news for LEGO, talking about LEGO Pit Stop, drafting LEGO Set # 10717 Classic Bricks, Bricks, Bricks (currently for sale at Costco for $39.99), and per usual, hanging out with like minded AFOLs talking all things LEGO.
Wait a second. What is a DRAFT you ask? A LEGO® draft is an activity where multiple copies of a single set is divided between participants. Preparation includes dividing the sets into lots. This can be done in various ways, including by piece and color. Generally, each mini figure is assembled and is its own lot. Then each participant is randomly assigned a rank. Each person takes a turn and chooses a lot in rank order until all lots are taken.

September Member’s Meeting
It’s that time of the year again, and no I am not talking about the start of Husker Football. I’m talking about the September LOLUG Member’s meeting. This month’s meeting will be held in Omaha, NE at the Milton Abrahams Public Library 5111 North 90th, Sept. 19th from 6:30 – 8:30.
This month our own Lauren Boswell will be giving a presentation on storage techniques and supplies. We will also recap NEBRASKA BRICK DAYS- Lincoln as we turn our attention to planning NEBRASKA BRICK DAYS-Omaha, Iron Builder, and as always, talking any and everything about everyone’s favorite toy.
