    We are excited to announce that Brick Days is coming back to Lincoln!! Come join us November 23rd & 24th at the Lancaster Event Center. We are bring back all your old favorites, Minifig Speed build, Speedway Racing Ramp, Play Brick tables, vendors, Bingo, public display area, and of course tons and tons of creations. For the first time, LOLUG has added a mosaic making table and a graffiti wall to the list of activities.

    November Member’s Meeting

    Countdown to Brick Days – Lincoln has begun and LOLUG members are working hard on last minute builds for the event. With that said, there is still time to become a LOLUG member before the big event by attending the November meeting. This month we will be in Omaha at the Milton R. Abrahams Omaha Public Library at 5111 N 90th St from 6:30 – 8:30 pm on Nov. 20th.

    We will be going over last minute Brick Days details, having a Show & Tell with member’s new builds, and John Tooker will give a presentation about LOLUG having a castle collaboration display. Castle displays are always a huge request at our events so for all the castle builders – do not miss this presentation!

    We will also be drafting set #75987 Omnic Bastion. If you would like to take part in the draft, just bring an unopened copy of the set and you’re in.

    October Member’s Meeting

    Looking to have a scary good time? Come join us for our October member’s meeting. Due to a conflict in scheduling, this month’s meet has been changed. We will be meeting at the Center Team Police Station Community Room, 1501 N 27th street in Lincoln, on Oct. 23rd from 6:30 – 8:80 pm.

    This month we will be recapping the Beatrice Train Show, discussing Nebraska Brick Days, and drafting set #10717 which can be found at your nearest Costco.

    September Member’s Meeting

    Come one and all to the LOLUG September Meeting next Wednesday September 18th starting at 6:30 pm at the Abrahams Branch Libary in Omaha – 5111 North 90th.

    We will be discussing LEGO, our upcoming events, activities and updates from the LEGO Ambassador Network!

    We will be judging the winner of this months Iron Builder. Iron Builder is the monthly building competition that LOLUG members do with the members voting on the winner. This month is a theme build – if you want to participate – bring something that depicts “Great Moments in Science!” Build your favorite scientific discovery, breakthrough, or invention—either real or fictional.

    We also will be drafting LEGO set # 41349 Friends Drifting Diner. If you want to participate bring a sealed copy of that set.

    Finally we will be distributing 2nd half of the year support from LEGO. If you want to see a benefit of being involved with LOLUG – please stop out and become involved with LOLUG and talk about your favorite brick!

    Feeling a bit frazzled from another summer with the kids? Need a night out among like minded adults? Then join LOLUG at our August member’s meeting. This month’s meeting will be in Lincoln at the Loren Corey Eiseley Library, 1530 Superior Street in Lincoln from 6-8 pm.

    This month we will be discussing Brickworld Kansas City, Brick Days Lincoln, news and notes from LEGO, and anything else LEGO related that is brought up. We will also be drafting  LEGO set #75972 – Overwatch Dorado Showdown. So stop on by and check us out.

    July Members Meeting

    Still have all of your building fingers left? Good, then come out to LOLUG’s July meeting and tell us our your 4th went. We will be meeting at the Milton R. Abrahams Omaha Public Library ,5111 N 90th St in Omaha, on the 17th from 6:30-8:30pm.

    This month well will be having a presentation by Eric entitled, “How to build in Micropolis scale.” Also see the results of our Mad Max themed iron builder compaction, updating everyone of all the goings on from LEGO and the LAN, and talk about a new LUG in the area. We will also start talking about Brick Days-Lincoln and start the planning for that. So if you want to get in on the ground floor, now is the time to join. If none of this interests you and just want to talk about everyone’s favorite brick, come on down because we’ll be doing that too.

    June Member’s Meeting

    Beat the heat by attending this month’s LOLUG member’s meeting. June’s meeting will be held at the Loren Corey Eiseley Library, 1530 Superior St in Lincoln. Ever wondered what goes on behind the curtains at Brickworld Chicago? Well then you don’t want to miss this meeting. Come here stories first hand from LOLUG members that were in attendance. We will also be discussing future events including Brickworld Kansas City which LOLUG will be a Co-Host of. And as always, we will be talking about what’s new with LEGO, with LOLUG, and any other topics that come up.

  • There’s no place like…Chicago?

    There’s no place like…Chicago?

    June is finally upon us and for LOLUG that means Brickworld-Chicago. Every year LOLUG travels to the Windy City for one of, if not the best, LEGO Convention this side of the “Pond.” This year LOLUG has 20+ members making the trip to display their newest creations, attend workshops and panels, partake in LEGO building competitions, and much more.

    This year LOLUG will be awarding three trophies (seen here) to individuals (or groups) that we feel exemplifies the best qualities of each award.
    #Nebraska Strong- This award will be given out to the LUG or group of people that best shows teamwork and overall camaraderie among their group.

    Builder of the Plains– This trophy will be awarded the the builder that best exhibits the traits that have made the Midwest/Nebraska what it is: Nebraska Nice!

    LUG Favorite–  This is LOLUG’s version of “Best in Show” and will be given to LOLUG’s over all favorite build.

    Brickworld-Chicago will be June 15th-16th. If you’re in the area of the Schaumburg Convention Center, stop in and see us and the 100K ft of LEGO goodness.
