Abrahams Omaha Public Library at 5111 N 90th St from 6:30 – 8:30 pm on Nov. 20th. \nWe will be going over last minute Brick Days details\, having a Show & Tell with member’s new builds\, and John Tooker will give a presentation about LOLUG having a castle collaboration display.  Castle displays are always a huge request at our events so for all the castle builders – do not miss this presentation! \nWe will also be drafting set #75987 Omnic Bastion. DESCRIPTION:June is finally upon us and for LOLUG that means Brickworld-Chicago. Every year LOLUG travels to the Windy City for one of\, if not the best\, LEGO Convention this side of the “Pond.” This year LOLUG has 20+ members making the trip to display their newest creations\, attend workshops and panels\, partake in LEGO building competitions\, and much more. \nThis year LOLUG will be awarding three trophies (seen here) to individuals (or groups) that we feel exemplifies the best qualities of each award.\n#Nebraska Strong- This award will be given out to the LUG or group of people that best shows teamwork and overall camaraderie among their group. \nBuilder of the Plains– This trophy will be awarded the the builder that best exhibits the traits that have made the Midwest/Nebraska what it is: Nebraska Nice! \nLUG Favorite–  This is LOLUG’s version of “Best in Show” and will be given to LOLUG’s over all favorite build. \nBrickworld-Chicago will be June 15th-16th. If you’re in the area of the Schaumburg Convention Center\, stop in and see us and the 100K ft of LEGO goodness. \nUntil nest time\, PLAY WELL!!

SUMMARY:Hobbytown's 1st Annual Mini-Fig Fun Day
DESCRIPTION:I am proud to announce that LOLUG will be co-hosting the 1st annual Hobbytown Mini-Fig Fun Day. This event will be hosted by Hobbytown USA and their south location at 4107 Pioneer Woods Dr. suite 108 in Lincoln\, Ne on December the 8th from 11-3. \nWhat is a “Mini-fig Fun Day” you ask? Well I’m glad you did. Folks from both LOLUG and Hobbytown will be hosting a mini-fig exchange event where we invite the public to come in and swap out any old unwanted LEGO mini-figs with for different ones. Participants will have the chance to swap with LOLUG members as well as among each other. \nAlso\, we will be running our popular Mini-Fig Speed Building Competition all day long. If you enjoyed participating in this event at Nebraska Brick Days this year\, or looking to bone up for next year\, this is the perfect time. \nIn addition to all that LEGO goodness\, members of LOLUG will be around to answer questions\, help with building techniques\, or just shoot the breeze about all things LEGO. \nHope to see you all there\, and until then\, PLAY WELL!!

DESCRIPTION:Looking for so rare hard to find LEGO sets or missed out or looking for that one retired set to complete your collection? You’re in luck. Members from LOLUG will be in attendance at this year’s Midwest Collectible Toy Show selling sets from their own collection. This year’s event will be held on December 2nd at the Omaha’s Firefighter’s Union Hall\, 6005 Grover St\, from 9-3. \nAdmission is free so if you’re looking for something to do that day\, come out and have look or just stop by to hang out\, you know we are always looking for a reason to talk LEGO with people.

DESCRIPTION:Happy Birthday LOLUG! That’s right\, LOLUG turns 6 this month. It seems like only yesterday we were warming up formula\, changing its diapers…..errrr…aaaahhh never mind. With the changing of every month\, comes the announcement of our next meeting. This month’s get -together is Wed. Oct. 17th in Lincoln at the Loren Corey Eiseley Library located at 1530 Superior Street Lincoln\, Ne from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. \nThis month we will be discussing new news for LEGO\, talking about LEGO Pit Stop\, drafting LEGO Set # 10717 Classic Bricks\, Bricks\, Bricks (currently for sale at Costco for $39.99)\, and per usual\, hanging out with like minded AFOLs talking all things LEGO. \nWait a second. What is a DRAFT you ask? A LEGO® draft is an activity where multiple copies of a single set is divided between participants. Preparation includes dividing the sets into lots. This can be done in various ways\, including by piece and color. Generally\, each mini figure is assembled and is its own lot. Then each participant is randomly assigned a rank. Each person takes a turn and chooses a lot in rank order until all lots are taken. \nHope to see you there. Until then\, PLAY WELL!!
